Did any of you basketball fans pay attention to the NBA Draft last night? Apparently there is some debate over whether the Memphis Grizzlies exercised their picks in the NBA draft with need or best talent available driving the process. What do you think?

It’s no secret that the Grizz needed a better bench. So they nabbed Kansas shooting guard Xavier Henry with the 12th overall pick in the first round. With the addition of Henry, and a tall point guard with the 6-6 Greivis Vasquez (28th selection), they seem to be headed in the right direction.

Overall, the coach, Lionel Hollins, is happy in the acquisition of two great players. Xavier Henry 10th on the Grizzlies draft board, so there was no hesitation to pick the former University of Memphis recruit. Vasquez is very versatile and can play off the ball. Vasquez averaged 19.6 points, 6.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds last season.

With Henry and Vasquez on board, the Griz can give the opposition a different look in the backcourt when they go to the bench. Hopefully the rookies will give theĀ  Grizzles what they need this upcoming basketball season. Who knows, maybe they’ll finally see the playoffs?

What do you think of the draft picks?
